Lecture moved this week – 29th November, 10am

As we discussed last Friday, this week’s lecture was moved from Friday, Dec 2nd, to Tuesday, Nov 29th. The lecture is scheduled in room EG301 (Automatica/Energetica), the same room used for the last lecture held in Automatica. If you do not manage to find the classroom by yourselves, we’ll meet at 9:55 in the EC hallway.

Lab 2 Divide et Impera & Greedy

1. Recursive Powering

2. Find missing number in a sequence of consecutive numbers (0,1,2,3…n) in which one is missing. (Binary Search)

3. You are given two arrays of numbers, each representing an army. The first is you army and the second the opponent’s army. Each number represents the power of a soldier. The pair of soldiers at the same index (in both arrays) battle against each other. If your soldier has the power less or equal than the opponent’s soldier losses. Knowing how the other army is arranged, assign the soldiers in the battle in order to maximize the sum of powers of the winning soldiers and compute that sum.

Course lecture hours changed this week

As I mentioned at the last lecture, this week we will not have the lecture on Friday (Nov 11), as I am going to a conference. Instead, the lecture is scheduled on Tuesday (Nov 8), in room EG301 (Automatica/Energetica). If you do not manage to get to the classroom, we’ll meet at 9:50 in the EC hallway.
